Which could be more satisfactorily replaced by a prosthetic device, a hip joint or a knee joint? why?

I have seen people with both and it seems that the ones who have knee end up with less trouble. I have seen them mismatch the hip requiring replacement in one year. Haven't seen any trouble like that with knees.
