I fear outside world?

mmk... i'm 17 years old and i've never cared about what i'm goign to do in the future. but these days, my senior friends are sending apps to colleges, and then we've been talking and we hit the topic of our future jobs and money. but then i don't really understand the value of money. my friend asked how much i want to make and i said around 10k per month, or 100k per year. my friend told me that is pretty good and is considered upper middle cl. i only said this amount because i thought it was average. can somebody distribute the value of money with what kinda cars and house i'll have with 100k per year?
