HELP color won't COME BACK on Photoshop CS?

Okay here is what happened all of a sudden all my colors swatches turn out gray or some shade of black and white. I can pick a color but it only goes on as various shades of gray. How do I switch it back. IT WON'T with anything I've tried and as always the help on is a piece of crap, please help program is severely needed
